Liked it a lot but something seems to happen when my drones get damaged/destroyed and it prevents me from deploying further drones... no idea what to do, I send to gather, deployed, and a little guy figure pops up. I recall, and nothing. :c

Thanks for the heads up! What map did this happen? I ran a few tests, and I did find a potential issue, was it the ‘rainy’ pink one? Most likely the ‘node’ got stuck as ‘in use’, so drones will ignore it, try checking if a different one still works as normal. I’ll work on a hotfix to ensure it doesn’t happen. Let me know if you find more issues!

Thank you! It happened on two different maps with hazards - meteorites and indigenous hostile lifeforms.

I have really enjoyed this game so far, it feels like an old dos game and I love that, however when I tried playing it on my phone, I couldn't get out of the ship inventory because there is no keyboard on my phone, so could you add that please?

Thanks for playing it! To exit any window just touch the screen with two fingers! Touch controls may be a bit unintuitive, I’ll add them to the description when I drop the next patch, most likely tomorrow. Hope you check it out!

Thanks!

Really nice game, and you can enable full screen button when you edit the uploaded game :D

Thanks for playing! I did remap the Fullscreen button to something more intuitive for the upcoming version. I can’t enable the itch.io Fullscreen button though if that’s what you mean, it gets drawn right on top of the Grid button lol

Oh that makes sense then :D

Great Game ! It's really a catching game, and the retro visuals is nostalgic. Very well exectuted, my favorite so far.

One thing: F5 closes the game which I pressed to get back to fullscreen (Saving game, pressing escape, game goes back to embedded screen), F5 is next to F4 so I exited the game by accident a few times without knowing what happened (crash?). After the third time I realized F5 closes the game.

Thank you for trying it out! I’m always a big fan of the retro sci-fi aesthetic, and I’m glad to hear others enjoy it too.

Regarding the F5 issue, pressing it will just prompt a browser refresh, so the page is actually reloading instead of crashing! You do actually raise a good concern that I haven’t considered; F4 may be a bit cumbersome on some keyboard layouts. It’s an engine hard-coded key for fullscreen, but I think I can change it for the upcoming version, I’ll look into it.

Thanks for letting me know!

Ah yeah right, F5 does a reload, that's right, I forgot (it looks like the game was closed from the visual feedback) ... just the position of F4 is a bit "dangerous".

Really like this game even though it took me a while to figure out what to actually do. Usually I skip out fast when that happens but not for this one. It might have been the atmosphere that held me so good job on that. I never play this kinda game so for noobs like me it would be nice to have an active tutorial or at least have the how to play in the menu. Yeah it took me a minute to realize that the question mark in the UI could be helpful ^^* That's on me xD

If you work further on this I would integrate the map function directly into the cockpit to make the whole looking for a site and heading for it smoother. The display of space travel is really nice and immersive already, so why not expand on that.

The sounds do need a bit of balancing, the pickup sound of the drone especially.

All in all I really enjoyed this one. Good job

Really glad to hear you enjoyed it! Don’t worry about the Help button, it really wasn’t an ideal way to deliver the information on how to play the game, more like, all I had time to add haha.

I’m definitely working on improving the whole experience, and should have something up soon! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Great entry. Love the music, art, and sfx! They really lock in the atmosphere of a space exploration game. I enjoyed the battle and wish I realized sooner the idling will let them heal but it's my fault for missing the info in the how to play. Collecting the resources was cool but I only did one planet with the time I had available I was left feeling like it needed some type of stakes in order for it not to feel like chore. Maybe avoiding enemies or a puzzle? I loved navigating the map I mean your just really nailed down the experience and aesthetic. It really felt like I was a ship commander. Great jam entry! You did so much and did it very very well.

Really appreciate your feedback and taking the time to comment! A better help system and more engaging gathering is indeed on the list of things that are getting a makeover. Hope you give it another go when the update drops!

Simple and effective :D. Really well styled and polished as well. I think the travel is visually and artistically impressive, but would like it to be a bit faster, or potentially more engaging? The way it is atm feels a little tedious traveling to farther out coordinates on the grid.

The whole stars scene ended up being the bulk of the project, I’d have love to expand on it, but even as is I barely managed to get it done on time! There’s a lot of potential there, definitely. Thanks for trying it out, there’s a lot of polish to be done here.

I like the idea, it reminds me of an old NES game, can't remember the name. I can't read any of the option text.

(1 edit)

It may have been developed with the Starfox soundtrack on loop, haha. The text thing is a real shame, I really liked the font, but it was a bit on the unreliable side. I switched for now to a less ‘odd’ one, will revisit when the judging period is over. Thanks for reporting it!
